Don’t you just love hearing about two successful, beautiful people ending up together, spending the rest of their lives forever? Call me cheesy, corny… whatever. *rolls eyes*

Anyway, if there’s two other people in Hollywood I genuinely care about (besides KimYe and Bee Z), in a heartbeat I’d say it’s George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin Clooney.

Would you just look at how they stare at each other?!

Isn’t this moment just PERFECT?

Dressed up or down, they still look good.

Their wedding in 2004 in Venice, Italy.

Anyway, why all this buzz about THE couple?

Last night, news broke that George and Amal gave all their fellow passengers noise-cancelling headphones with a sorry note because they were flying in with their 6-month old twins. What if all parents with babies did that? (Or what if we all just brought our own pair, LOL!)

Moral here: They have respect for other people and did not want to inconvenience them with the possible crying of their children.

And before that, it was reported that George gifted 14 of his friends — each — USD 1,000,000. A million dollars. Each. Christ!

Moral here: It was done out of gratitude. He gave his friends a part of his hard-earned cash as a thank you for helping him make it in Hollywood. Talk about a guy who knows how to give back!

I know, I know. They both probably have so much money and they just don’t know how else to spend it. But when you think about it, “Oh my god! They totally deserve everything they have right now!”

Why? Read on.

AMAL CLOONEY

You’d think that a successful woman like Amal would have kept her last name.

The lawyer.

Amal Clooney is a barrister at Doughty Street Chambers in London, where she specializes in international law and human rights. She is qualified to practice law in both the United States and United Kingdom.

Her notable achievements include a clerkship at International Court of Justice and working in the Office of the Prosecutor at the UN Special Tribunal for Lebanon and the International Criminal Tribunal of the former Yugoslavia. She was also appointed adviser to Special Envoy Kofi Annan on Syria. (I know! Way too many accomplishments!)

Her clients include the state of Cambodia , former Philippine president (now Congresswoman) Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, the Republic of Armenia, WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, former prime minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko, and Egyptian-Canadian journalist Mohamed Fahmy.

I’d like to think her fluency in English, French, and Arabic helped her in those cases (Amal, the polyglot).

The philanthropist.

Clooney Foundation for Justice

Amal Clooney is the president of the Clooney Foundation for Justice, which she co-founded with her husband George. It aims to advance justice in courtrooms, communities, and classrooms around the world.

Amal Clooney Scholarship

The British-Lebanese lawyer partnered with the non-profit 100 LIVES to create Amal Clooney Scholarship, where one female student from Lebanon will be sent to WC Dilijan College in Armenia to enroll in a two-year international baccalaureate program.

“This scholarship will give young women from Lebanon the opportunity of a lifetime. Cross-cultural learning and studying abroad can be transformative.” — Amal Clooney

The activist.

Following the violence that erupted in Charlottesville, Virginia earlier this year, the Clooney Foundation for Justice partnered with the Southern Poverty Law Center to continue its work in combating hate groups.

The fashion icon.

Amal is not just a talented lawyer, human rights activist, and philanthropist. She is also a fashion icon!

From trips to the courtroom to social engagements to awards nights with her husband, Amal Clooney knows how to class it up!

George Clooney

Tell me he ain’t perfect.

The actor.

Most popularly known as Dr. Doug Ross in ER, he was Batman for a brief time and played the lead in Ocean’s 11 and its sequels. He also won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Syriana, where he gained 30 pounds to play CIA operative Bob Barnes.

The good friend.

Rande Gerber, husband of Cindy Crawford and father of Kaia Gerber Rande (know him now?) shared once the time George Clooney asked him and a few other friends for dinner at his house.

He says, “George begins to say, ‘Listen, I want you guys to know how much you’ve meant to me and how much you mean to me in my life. I came to L.A., I slept on your couch. I’m so fortunate in my life to have all of you and I couldn’t be where I am today without all of you. So, it was really important to me that while we’re still all here together, that I give back. So I want you all to open your suitcases.’”

And the suitcases each had a million dollars.

But it wasn’t just about the money. After his friends opened their suitcases, George shared that as much as he wanted to thank his friends for what they’ve done, he also wanted to help one particular friend who was going through a tough time.

The philanthropist.

Along with his wife, George started the Clooney Foundation for Justice. In July 2017, the foundation partnered with UNICEF to build seven public schools for Syrian refugee children in Lebanon.

In 2016, he was co-chair of the Aurora Prize for Awakening Humanity, a $1 million global humanitarian prize. His other organization, Not On Our Watch Foundation, is also a partner of the above-mentioned 100 LIVES.

Following the 9/11 attacks, Clooney organized a fundraiser for United Way, which featured a number of Hollywood stars. They were able to gather $129 million in total. When Hurricane Katrina hit, he donated $1 million to United Way Hurricane Katrina Response Fund.

The activist.

When given a platform to speak, one has to use it.

Sudan

Clooney arrested in 2012 for joining the Sudan protests

In 2006, he traveled with his father to Darfur to report the war and genocide in the area. He believed that especially with his Hollywood status, he could spark the interest of the international community on the issue.

Together with Don Cheadle, Matt Damon, Brad Pitt, and Ocean’s 11 producer Jerry Weintraub, they co-founded Not On Our Watch, an organization that aims to stop the genocide in Sudan. He also launched the Satellite Sentinel Project, which assesses the human security situation in the said. In 2008, he was awarded UN Messenger for Peace for his efforts.

Others

Together with the Running Heart Foundation, George gave the city of Rome, Italy ten BMW scooters equipped with first aid for heart problems. He is also a supporter of ONE Campaign, an organization dedicated to fighting poverty in Africa, and Realizing the Dream, a nonprofit founded by Martin Luther King III that aims to “champion freedom, justice, and equality by working to eliminate poverty, build community and foster peace through nonviolence.”

Honestly, these two deserve all the goodness in the world.

Both are successful in their chosen fields, intelligent, talented, and supporters of human rights and justice. And they prove that when you give, you will receive much much more. #GOALS
