6 Accessory Trends To Try This Season

This season, accessory trends are anything but minimalist. From work-of-art heels and earrings to animal-printed everything, shoes, bags, and jewelry for Fall 2018 are more than a little bit extra.

Chunky Sneakers
That’s right — dad sneakers are still going strong into this season. With labels like Gucci, Prada, and Versace all offering their own takes on the trend on the Fall 2018 runways, clunky sneakers with huge soles aren’t going away anytime soon.
Since the shoes are so chunky, wear form-fitting bottoms like skinny jeans— or if you want to wear culottes, make sure they’re cropped. The key is to make sure your legs don’t look swallowed by fabric (and how else will you show off the shoes?),
Oversized Bags
From Victoria Beckham’s giant wool hobo bag to Marni’s oversized clutch, this season is all about carryalls that can literally carry all. This is great news if you’re like me and feel the need to carry your whole life around with you even if you’re just running to the grocery store.
Animal Print Accessories
Animal prints are one of Fall 2018’s biggest trends, and one of the easiest ways to try on the trend is via accessories. Snakeskin might be a little subtler than the usual leopard and zebra prints, but brands like Oscar de la Renta and Michael Kors were amping it up with bright, bold colors for the perfect statement accessory.

Architectural Heels
The heels’ version of dad sneakers’ clunky soles are architectural heels. Jacquemus sent down heels made out of three stacked balls down the runway, while Dolce & Gabbana played it a little quirkier with heels shaped like cartoon figures. Think of it as wearing sculptures on your shoes.
Box Bags
Another structured trend this season is the box bag — think of it as a miniature, more feminine take on the briefcase. Dolce & Gabbana took it to the extreme with ornate jewel box-shaped bags, but other designers like Calvin Klein and Negris Lebrum had more straightforward designs, with shoulder straps to turn them into crossbody bags.
Cuffs
Like all the other accessory trends of this season, bracelets are veering away from the dainty end of the spectrum. Altuzarra presented a huge silver unicorn cuff, while Alexander McQueen had multi-colored, jewel-encrusted cuffs. Whether you go with a bold, blinged-out piece, or a simple solid metal cuff, this trend is an easy way to elevate any outfit.
